In 2002, Nick Hortovanyi CEO, leveraging his experience in data & internet related projects, identified the need for IT consultancies to be more agile, to deliver customers with an effective balance between business and technology. As a result, he founded Toast Technology, a company that has consistently achieved that agility and balance. The company was founded on the basis of providing ICT Architectureal, ICT Governance and Project Management offerings that addapted to the customer's needs. Toast Technology was awarded the 2004 IBM Software Pioneer Award in early 2005, for our Business Portal Server on-premise solution. In 2005, it became an IBM specialist partner in WebSphere, Lotus and Rational before in the same year becoming an IBM Advanced Business Partner. IBM technical certifications were maintained in WebSphere Portal and Rational with IBM sales certifications, across Lotus, Information Management, Tivoli, WebSphere and Rational software brands. During the 2000s, Toast Technology was recognised as a valued partner via being a Sun System Reseller - Java, Novell/SuSE Linux Partner, Apple Authorised Reseller and as an Oracle Partner. Through the mid to late 2000s, R&D and Commcercialisation activities were related to SaaS (Software as a Service) and Cloud Computing. In 2009, Professor Craig Mudge, Pacific Challenge, stated that "Toast has strong technical knowledge of the field and its emergence". Vendor independent consulting services were provided to numerous Australian customers. Some custom built software has also been developed as a result of it winning competitive tenders. Driven to deliver a service that meets its customers’ needs Toast Technology, moved from acting as a reseller, to delivery of ICT professional services and managerial consulting in 2009. This has been achieved by its CEO, Nick Hortovanyi's active participation through Social Media interactions over Twitter and Linked In forums resulting in an article Australian Cloud Compared featured on ZDnet.com.au. Nick has also been interviewed for Cloud Computing articles in the monthly Australian Institute of Company Director's magazine. |
